Fifty Shades of Grey: You are Worth More Than This

Ladies, you are worth more than what Christopher Grey’s character offers.

BooksforHer has my utmost RESPECT for posting this review: Fifty Shades of Grey. I refuse to read this book because the very idea creeps me out and makes me nauseous. More than just sexual bondage and fleeting satisfaction comes with this kind of relationship.

Here is a summary line from the review:“Mature, experienced male meets naïve, virginal female with eroticism times ten.” Some of you are probably thinking, “What’s wrong with that?” Ladies, please be careful!

You are worth so much more.

Our heavenly Father created you to be loved, respected, and adored. He did not create you to be someone’s sex slave. This novel is disrespectful to every woman who exists. There is a big difference between love and lust. It’s wonderful to know that a man finds you attractive. It’s a beautiful feeling when your physical body is appreciated, but only when it is adored by the right man who has ALL of your best interests at heart. Don’t lower yourself to be an instant gratification machine for a man.

Love-lust worth

Sex was designed to be so much more than how this world defines sex. Proverbs 31 tells us that “Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing.” One day, you may not be as beautiful on the outside as you are right now. Will someone like Christopher Grey still want you when you have wrinkles and a few dimples in your nether cheeks? Instead, focus on what love is about:

Love never gives up. Love cares more for others than for self. Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have. Love doesn’t strut, Doesn’t have a swelled head, Doesn’t force itself on others, Isn’t always “me first,” Doesn’t fly off the handle, Doesn’t keep score of the sins of others, Doesn’t revel when others grovel, Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth, Puts up with anything, Trusts God always, Always looks for the best, Never looks back, But keeps going to the end. Love never dies … (1 Corinthians 13:4-8 MSG)

Beauty fades, but love endures. You were not designed to be just a fleeting satisfaction for any man’s physical needs. You are worth so much more!

Guest Review: Fifty Shades of Grey.

I’ve finally converted my blog to and am enjoying the tools there, such as Zemanta, which notifies me of other articles that address my topics.  I found an interesting article by M.A. Chiappetta that I’ve posted for you below. She makes some very good points and I’m grateful she shared the spoiler about how the book ends. I feel a little better now. :-)
